Sunscreen reduces melanoma risk by 40 percent in young people

HMF are passionate about educating as many people as possible about the dangers of melanoma and the importance of prevention. We are thrilled to see this research confirm the importance of wearing sunscreen during childhood to prevent melanoma in later life.

A world-first study led by University of Sydney, has found Australians aged 18-40 years who were regular users of sunscreen in childhood reduced their risk of developing melanoma by 40 percent, compared to those who rarely used sunscreen.
